Corrosion resistance
By molding stainless steel, the inter-granular corrosion is facilitated by an insufficiently austenitic structure that can generate leaks. Whereas in mechanized welding engineering we can use low carbon steels and avoid such troubles, we can’t use such steels in molding technology because of their bad fluidity.
In most cases, crevice corrosion comes from retention zones where fluid is bad renewed. A better surface finish and an homogeneous structure considerably reduce such risks.
Control
In case of mechanically welded bodies from welded elements, there is very few defect risks in the basic metal. So, radio control will be mostly limited to welded areas .
